I’m a huge fan of celebrating wins, whether big or small. Graduating high school is such a huge accomplishment, and accomplishments should be celebrated! Many people look back at high school as their glory days and a time where life was simpler. The stress of adulthood hadn’t hit most of us yet and we felt young, wild, and free. Why not capture the moment?

Senior pictures don’t have to be boring! In fact, modern day senior sessions can be simple or completely extra. Do you want only digital files or do you want heirloom keepsakes? Choosing your senior photographer can be tricky if you’re not sure what is out there.

A session fee is usually required for sessions like these, but having everything taken care of during your session so you don’t have to worry is the greatest kind of self care and indulgence.

Are you a digital or physical kind of person? Many photographers offer digital file only packages and galleries, and if that’s what you’re wanting, great!

Choosing a photographer who specializes in heirloom items allows you to purchase things like photo albums, wall art, folio boxes, and so much more. The best part of that? Photographers who offer items like these work with professional labs to ensure your prints are of the highest quality and will last for many years to come.

WHAT COLOR STYLE DO YOU ENJOY?

There are so many editing styles! Dark and moody, vibrant, true to color, bright and airy, super warm… what style draws you in the most? Check the portfolios of the photographers you’re considering and see their style. Colors are usually never the exact same, but check out the color tones and decide if that’s something you could see yourself in. This way, you’re less likely to be unhappy with your edits when you have an understanding of the final product.
